The Latest and the Greatest

I just realized that I left people hanging on the blog. So here is my late night update.

First of all, John took the job with Amazon. They made a good offer, and the relocation package is to die for. They are packing and moving all of our stuff. They will also store it for 45 days and provide us with a furnished apartment for that time so we can find a house or apartment. They will also ship our van for us, and fly us all out to Charleston. They are also willing to fly us out for a short house-hunting trip, but we don't think we'll have time to take advantage of it. Our house closing is on the 19th for our house, and we are moving on the 20th. That is two weeks away. When I think about it only being two weeks I feel a little nervous, but overall we just feel amazed. We really couldn't have asked for more. Our house is sold. We have a great job offer in one of the places we hoped to move, and they are moving everything for us. Everything has lined up perfectly and I am still in shock over it all.

We talked to our Relocation Specialist today on the phone and she is doing all of the arranging. So all we have to do is show up and she will figure out the details. I feel almost weird not packing up my own stuff knowing that we are moving so soon, but it's a great feeling too. I think I'm just still in shock. :)

There's more exciting news in the works too, but I'll have to wait for another night that I'm not so tired to write it. I don't mean to leave you hanging. At least I got this post written, right? Right. :)

  5. It's amazing them watching the movers in action. One tip though, they pack things depending on location not category. So it's like if you have a junk drawer they just put the whole contents in a box. So if you want certain things packed together then put them next to each other..or organize what you have beforehand. Also, get rid of anything you don't want to take with you ( I had a box with like walmart bags and empty 2 liter bottles)...or you will end up unpacking it later.

So excited for you! It is really a fun experience but I warn you---you will be spoiled from now on in regards to moving!

  6. Thanks, Jenn. That explanation worked quite nicely for me:). I cannot believe how fortunate you guys are, and I know the Lord inspired you and has smoothed the way for you.

  7. That is so great for you guys. What a great story you have about listening to the Spirit, even when it doesn't make sense (spelling?) at the time.
I also feel bad that I had this amazing cousin so close by and I rarely took advantage to see ya. And I'm excited for big news #2....

  8. Man! That is a sweet deal! I thought I'd offer to help you pack, but that's not going to happen. I still am thinking about when I can come out to visit you.
